Why Use a Fake Upgrade Screen?

Our Fake Upgrade Screen tool is designed to simulate realistic operating system update processes right in your browser. Whether you want to pull a harmless prank on your colleagues, take a guilt-free coffee break while your "computer updates," or simply need a convincing background for a video production, this tool has you covered.

Perfect for Pranks

Set up your coworker's computer with a never-ending Windows update screen. Watch them wait patiently for an update that never finishes!

Deserved Breaks

Need 15 minutes away from your screen? Display a fake update screen to show anyone passing by that your computer is "busy".

Supported Operating Systems

  • Windows 11 & 10: Authentic-looking update screens with the classic spinning dots and progress percentage.
  • macOS: The sleek Apple update bar on a black background.
  • Ubuntu: The classic aubergine background with orange progress bar for Linux enthusiasts.

How to use the Fake Update Tool

  1. Select an OS: Choose the operating system that matches the computer you are using (or the one you want to simulate).
  2. Go Full Screen: Click "Start Simulation" and allow full screen mode. This hides your browser tabs and address bar for maximum realism.
  3. Wait: The progress bar will move automatically. It might stall occasionally to add to the realism.
  4. Exit: Simply press the ESC key on your keyboard to return to the normal browser view.
